These are native plants in Montana. My neighbor, Vivian, showed me the fruit and explained that the seed is nearly as big as the cherry so the only way to use them is as jam or syrup. We have a little bit growing next to the house and found some loaded branches hanging over the road next to the river. I may try my hand at making something with them. They need to be almost black to be ripe.
